Exercises You Can Do Anywhere!

You don't need a gym membership or expensive equipment to get a good workout. Try these 4 suggestions. All you need is your body weight and a little space.

1. Squats

Squats work your lower body. To do a squat, stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your knees slightly bent. Then, lower your hips as if you were going to sit in a chair. Keep your back straight and abs tight as you lower yourself down. Once your thighs are parallel to the floor, push back up to the starting position. Repeat this motion for 10-12 repetitions.

2. Push Ups

Push Ups strengthen your upper body and core muscles. To do a pushup, start in a plank position with your hands shoulder width apart and your feet hip width apart. Lower yourself down until your chest is just above the ground, then push back up to the starting position. Remember to keep your core engaged throughout the exercise and don’t let your hips sag below being parallel to the floor.Repeat this motion for 10-12 repetitions.

3. Lunges

Lunges are another great way to tone your lower body muscles. To do a lunge, stand with one leg in front of the other with both knees bent at 90 degrees. Keeping your front knee from going over your toes, lunge forward until your back knee is just above the ground. Push off of your back leg to return to the starting position and repeat with the other leg leading for 10-12 repetitions per side.

4. Plank

The plank is an excellent exercise for working your core muscles as well as the muscles in your arms, shoulders, and legs. To do a plank, start in a pushup position with your feet hip width apart and abs engaged so that there is a straight line from your head to your heels passing through your shoulders, hips, and ankles. Hold this position for 30-60 seconds without letting your hips sag below parallel or your upper back round forward. Remember to breathe throughout the exercise and stay relaxed while keeping good form! Start with holding for 30 seconds and work up to holding for 60 seconds as you get stronger.

These four exercises work all of the different muscle groups in your body without having to go to the gym or use any expensive equipment . Plus, they can be done anywhere so you have no excuse not to get moving!
